Frequently asked questions
Is FlowSelfie a medical device?
FlowSelfie is a personal monitoring tool. It is not certified as a medical device in your region and does not replace clinical examination. The device measures urine flow at home so you can track changes over time and share readings with your clinician.
How accurate is FlowSelfie compared to a clinic uroflowmeter?
FlowSelfie uses a strain-gauge weight sensor and reports peak flow within ±2% and volume within ±1 ml. Real-world accuracy depends on factors like container alignment, posture, and stream geometry — different from a clinic device but comparable for home tracking purposes.
Where does my measurement data go?
Measurements are stored on the device (up to 50 records) and synced to your phone via Bluetooth. The companion app (FlowSelfie or BladderDiary) stores the readings on your phone. Cloud sync is optional and can be disabled.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Bluetooth pairing and on-device memory let you measure and view results entirely offline. Internet is only needed if you choose to sync to the cloud or share results.
What is in the box?
FlowSelfie device, 2× AAA batteries, container, quick-start guide. Mobile app is downloaded separately from the App Store or Google Play.
How long does the battery last?
Two AAA batteries typically last several months of regular home use. The device shows a low-battery LED before drainage.
Can my doctor read the results?
You can export charts and data as a PDF from the FlowSelfie app and share it via email or messenger with your clinician. The PDF includes the flow curve, peak/average flow, total volume, and duration.
